Cervical Tuck at South Coast Plastic Surgey
Do you have significant sagging around your neck and jawline? Then you might be a good candidate for the Cervical Tuck at South Coast Plastic Surgery in Ladera, CA!
What is a Cervical Tuck?
A Cervical Tuck is a type of procedure that’s used to correct skin sagging and muscle drooping around the jawline and neck. This “facelift-lite” is an excellent choice for patients who may have more prominent signs of aging around the lower facial region, but may not want to undergo a full facelift procedure. The ultimate goal of the surgery is to help correct skin sagging, thereby creating a smoother and more youthful lower facial region.
How Does It Work?
Facelift surgery is performed under general anesthesia right at South Coast Plastic Surgery. The procedure begins with incisions placed beneath the chin and right in the scalp behind the ears, as this allows your plastic surgeon to access key muscles. Your surgeon will rearrange neck muscles to their more youthful position, as well as remove any excess skin to help show off your newfound results. At the end of the procedure, your surgeon will close the incisions.
Am I a Good Candidate For a Cervical Tuck?
You’re a good candidate for a cervical tuck if you have sagging skin and wrinkles that are primarily located around the lower facial regions and neck. Most candidates have poor skin laxity, which is why they need a cervical tuck. All candidates need to be healthy nonsmoking individuals who have realistic expectations for this procedure.

What Results Will I See?*
Most patients begin to see their results about three to six weeks after their surgery when most of the swelling and bruising has gone away. Patients can expect to see smoother and younger-looking skin around the neck and lower jawline, as well as a more contoured jawline. Most patients see a significant reduction in wrinkles and fine lines.
What is the Recovery Like?*
Recovery usually takes about a month; the first week usually features the most swelling and bruising, so we encourage patients to take time off. We usually recommend that patients have some support at home during the first few days of recovery, as you’ll likely spend a lot of your time sleeping. Most patients are usually able to return to work after a week.
During your second week of recovery, we recommend going for gentle walks to start exercising more. Most patients are able to resume their normal exercise routines after about four to six weeks.
